Surprise! Vanessa Hudgens is the new face of Bongo, and her fun spring campaign is a showstopper. "I love all their lacy crop tops," she tells us about the warm-weather threads. "They're so cute to wear with high-waisted shorts or a skirt."
With her new gig, Vanessa joins the ranks of former Bongo stars Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson—and she wears the title well. It helps, of course, to have a custom-built graffiti wall behind you, and everything from a polka dot varsity jacket to a leopard print swimsuit to play around in.
Most pieces in the collection seem like something she'd rock at a music festival, one of Vanessa's favorite springtime activities. "Coachella is the best," she shares. "I have so many great memories—just being outside with my friends, listening to my favorite bands, breeze in my hair. It's amazing." (Oh, and if you're wondering how she achieves said voluminous, concert-perfect strands, she told us her secret weapon: Oribe dry texturizing spray.)
What does she like to listen to most? The actress favors an eclectic mix, naming Arcade Fire, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, James Blake, Radiohead, and Bjork as top picks.
Concerts aside, Vanessa hits the gym in her free time. "I'm really addicted to working out," she says. "You set your mind to something and accomplish it and it reminds you that you can do anything. There's nothing better than feeling good in your own skin." As for her workout routine: "It's all over the place," she says. "I mostly spin and do a lot of Pilates and yoga. I'm up for anything, though!"
The willingness to try new things is apparent in Vanessa's career choices, from High School Musical to Spring Breakers to this new Bongo role. But she doesn't go it alone—she has role models who inspire her: "There are so many incredible women who have fought their way through this business and made a strong stance," she says.
And thanks to the new campaign, now we know where she stands when it comes to fashion: She's a fun-loving, sunny girl through and through.
